Training and Technical Assistance Committee

Goleta Public Library
The meeting of the Gold Coast Training and Technical Assistance Committee was held at Goleta Branch Library on November 20, 2001. In attendance were Sharon Andresen, Carolyn Platt, Janice Webb, and Mark Lager.
HTML Workshops.
There will be three workshops scheduled in early 2002. Foster Library in Ventura will be the first venue on Wed., February 13th. UCSB is next on March 20th. CalPoly is set for March 26th. All workshops run from 9-noon. 25 is the maximum per workshop. Registration will soon be available online; information on the course can be found at http://goldcoastlibraries.org/current.htm. Carolyn will put together a flyer. Gold Coast will supply refreshments.
Videoconferencing. Mark mentioned a new service via the web at www.astound.com. Janice mentioned that other programs for webconferencing she has reviewed were quite expensive.
Clearinghouse.
Janice presented a listing of links to useful tech sites; these will be added to our home page. This list is attached below.
URSA update.
Janice did a test between Black Gold and Ventura. It was mostly successful, but there are still a few glitches.
Grants.
Janice will pursue the H.W. Wilson.
Next meeting.
The committee will meet in Goleta on Thursday, January 17th at 11:30. The luncheon meeting will be held at the Good Earth restaurant.
