Network offers Fundamentals of HTML course February 13, March 20 and March 26, 2002
Janice Webb, Technology Librarian for the Gold Coast Library Network, and Mark Lager, Automation Librarian from Ventura County Library, will teach a beginning HTML course. The course, scheduled for the E.P. Foster Library on February 13th, the UCSB Library on March 20th and CalPoly San Luis Obispo on March 26th, will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Topics to be covered include:
- Basic tags
- Fonts and colors
- Lists and tables
- Images and backgrounds
- Hyperlinks
This course will be taught using Netscape, Internet Explorer and Notepad. Familiarity with Windows and web browser navigation and basic mouse and keyboarding skills are required.
Attendees will leave the training with:
- A basic understanding of HTML
- A web page, created in class, that contains the elements listed above
- A list of web-based resources that will help with questions about HTML not covered in this course
- An introduction to the next level of web page creation
