Committees

Committees of the Gold Coast Library Network work to achieve the goals of the Network as set forth in the annual plan of service. Committee members volunteer their time and talent to further the endeavors of the Network.

Executive committee - The Executive Committee is comprised of the four chairpersons of the Board of Directors (Chair, Vice Chair/Chair-Elect, Records and Correspondence Chair and Finance Chair) and Judith Segel, Chief Executive of the Network. The purpose of this committee is to facilitate the work of the Network through periodic meetings. Decisions that do not require a Board of Directors quorum can be made at these meetings.

Membership committee - The mission of the membership committee is to communicate and outreach to potential members and make recommendations on marketing and networking and increase participation by current members.

Online Services and Reference committee - The mission of the Online Services and Reference Committee is to plan for group database purchasing at the regional level. The committee will look at developing regional reference services and assess resources and expertise of member libraries.

Interlibrary Loan and Resource Sharing committee - The mission of the Interlibrary Loan and Resource Sharing Committee is to help shape regional policies that will enable member libraries and their users to access materials directly.

Training and Technical Assistance committee - The mission of the Training and Technical Assistance Committee is to recommend training programs for the Region and advise the Network and its members of types of technical consulting and how to get these services.

Bylaws committee - The Bylaws Committee is responsible for maintenance of the Network's bylaws. This committee also oversaw the creation of the bylaws.

Nominating committee - An ad hoc committee, the Nominating Committee convenes once per year to nominate a slate of candidates for the Board of Directors. Elections occur at the annual Network Council meeting in April.
