Kravetz Hands Off to Schmidt
Mary Lou Kravetz, Gold Coast Library
Network Program Manager since
February 2001, leaves her post at the
end of April to go into her family
business.  Mary Lou, the first GCLN
Program Manager, brought her
experience in special (Rand Corpora-
tion) and academic (Pacifica Graduate
Institute) libraries and in TIE (Total
Interlibrary Exchange, multi-type
organization) to the tasks of managing
the fledgling network.  She developed
and defined the position and laid a
strong foundation for Network program
management at Gold Coast.

Mary Lou will pass the baton to Vince
Schmidt on April 29, 2002.  Vince
worked as Library Cooperation Coordi-
nator in Illinois some years ago when
that state's public library cooperatives
were making the transition to multi-

type library cooperative.  He also has
extensive experience in library sales.

The Network extends its appreciation
and thanks to Mary Lou for her out-
standing work as its founding Network
Program Manager.  GCLN welcomes
Vincent Schmidt and looks forward to
working with him in this important
leadership position.
