Welcome to the Gold Coast Library Network.
The Gold Coast Library Network is Planning Region VII of the Library of California. The Network is currently working on its plan for development of a multi-type library network with the intention of making its application for Network status this spring.
The Gold Coast Library Network is governed by the Core Planning Group. This Planning Group has 56 members representing all types of libraries who meet monthly to work on the development of the Network.
The purpose of the Gold Coast Library Network is resource sharing and connectivity among academic, public, school and special libraries. Its Long Range Plan will include services and activities intended to improve library service to patrons throughout the region. These services could include training workshops, delivery between libraries in the region, a virtual union catalog that links the online public access catalogs of area libraries, back-up reference service, database licenses, consultant services and other services of interest to Region VII libraries.
Planning Region VII is composed of the Counties of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura and certain adjacent portions of Los Angeles County.
Libraries interested in participating in the Gold Coast Library Network should contact Judith Segel at [email protected].
