On Thursday, February 25, 1999, the Library of California Board approved a separate planning region for the TIE/Black Gold area. The LoC Board established Planning Region VII covering the Counties of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura. Initially, Planning Region VII matters will be handled by the existing TIE Advisory Board. Eventually a core planning group for Region VII will be named. For more information, contact TIE President Marcia Frasier
The TIE Advisory Board is pleased that the Library of California Board acted favorably on its petition to be its own planning region. If Region VII had not been established, TIE/Black Gold would have been part of Region IV which covers all of Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The petition was presented by TIE President Marcia Frasier with assistance from Dr. David Dowell, Vice-President/President-Elect.
