LONG RANGE PLAN BUDGET NARRATIVE

a.      Salaries & Benefits

In-kind = Donated time for meetings, between meeting tasks, consultations and conferences plus local library support staff assistance.  The Board of Directors will meet approximately 10-12 times per year; the Council will meet 1-4 times.

b.      Library Materials

Library of California = The Network expects to continue online database service and it may  add other reference resources as requested/required.

c.       Operations

Library of California = Ongoing business expenses, communications charges, legal and other professional services, rent and other facility fees with additional expenditures to support Network progress. 

In-Kind = Local library facilities and tools used by persons serving on the Council and the Board or providing assistance to the Network.

d.      Equipment ($5K+)

Library of California = Add office equipment as Network activity increases and replace functionally inadequate units as needed, e.g.,  computers, printers,  and desks, delivery vehicle if contract outside delivery services are deemed ineffective in whole or in part.

e.      Total for Objectives

Library of California = Training, workshops and scholarships, delivery services, Internet Service Provider and other Network  programs and activities.

In-Kind = Local library staff for participation in objective programs and activities:  serving on Board committees, working on project development, attending workshops and travel time..

f.        Indirect Cost

Library of California =For administrative overhead.

g.      Total funding

The Gold Coast Library Network  expects its primary funding to come from the Library of California budget during this long range budget period.  Some activities may be self-supporting within the limitations imposed by the 501(c)(3) non-profit status.  Members may use local funds for joint purchasing under Network contracts.
